TypeNative Telugu — Privacy Policy

Summary

TypeNative collects no data of any kind. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. It has no server component and never connects to the internet. It does not record, store, or learn from anything you type — not even on your own device.

Who we are

This policy explains how the TypeNative Telugu keyboard app for iPhone, published by Dollar Digital, LLC ("Dollar Digital," "we," "us," or "our"), a company organized in California, handles information. It supplements our website Privacy Policy, which covers the dollardigital.us site.

The important part: we never ask for Full Access

A custom keyboard on iPhone starts life inside a sandbox. In that state iOS gives it no network access and no shared storage — it can put characters into the text field you are typing in, and nothing else. A keyboard can ask you to leave that sandbox by requesting "Allow Full Access."

TypeNative never requests Full Access. The switch is not there to grant. This is not a promise about our intentions; it is a restriction iOS enforces on the app. Even if our code tried to send your keystrokes somewhere, the operating system would refuse to carry them.

If you have ever hesitated over a keyboard asking for Full Access, that instinct was correct. This is what a keyboard looks like when it doesn't need it.

Information we collect

None. TypeNative collects no personal information, no usage data, and no diagnostic data. We receive nothing when you use the app, because there is nowhere for anything to be received.

What you type

Everything you type goes to the app you are typing into, and nowhere else. TypeNative holds the word currently being typed only for as long as it takes to offer suggestions for it, entirely in memory, and discards it as soon as you finish the word. Nothing is written to disk, kept in a history, or used to build a profile of your writing.

The keyboard does not learn. It will not adapt to your vocabulary, because doing so would mean keeping a record of what you have written. This is a deliberate trade: slightly less personalization, in exchange for a keyboard that retains nothing about you.

Where the suggestions come from

The Telugu dictionary is compiled into the app before it ships and is identical for every user. Looking up a suggestion is a search through a file already on your phone — no request leaves the device, and the keyboard works exactly the same in airplane mode.

The word list is derived from the Dakshina dataset, published by Google Research under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence, together with a list of everyday conversational spellings compiled by us.

Passwords and secure fields

As with any keyboard, you can switch to Apple's keyboard at any time using the globe key. Note that iOS itself hides custom keyboards in some secure contexts and switches to the system keyboard instead; that behaviour is Apple's, not ours.

Third parties

TypeNative contains no third-party software development kits, advertising libraries, or analytics services. There is no third-party code in the app at all. No information is shared with anyone, because none is collected.

Children's privacy

TypeNative is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above when we do. If TypeNative ever did need Full Access for a feature, that would be a change to this policy, it would be described here plainly, and it would remain your choice.
